Statistics and Probability:  Analysis

Statistics and probability are sections of mathematics that deal with data

collection and analysis. Probability is the study of chance and is a very fundamental

subject that we apply in everyday living, while statistics is more concerned with

how we handle data using different analysis techniques and collection methods.

statistics is how we describe information and how we can properly present it

differentiating the Population from a Sample from the population is one of the most important things to understand in learning Statistics.  A popluation is the ENTIRE set of records, people, data.....etc. that exist.  A sample is some subset, which should be carefully selected to accurately represent the population as closely as possible, without bias or errors.
